Oh the Nazbo...
Now, I pretty much got dumb chills when I saw this. Is this really what the Pt Loma film program has come to? Now, I am not sure this was put on by a media comm kid from pt loma, but it is from pt loma's campus, and I did see the Dr. Benefield cameo...
Anyway, the more interesting part of this video is where it came from...

DOOR CRISIS: RESOLVED...
Basically the door had to be pretty much DESTROYED...a huge chunk CUT out of it...
Praise the Lord! Resolved...but seriously...they were one step away from knocking the door down...and I am NOT kidding...

why do these things always happen to me? Part three
Make that 50 minutes, three guys, and an ENTIRE ring of keys. To which none work.
The guy that just left said, "So how long do you plan to be up?" and I said "Until it gets fixed".
I think that made him upset, but REALLY?!?!, are you kidding me? All my stuff is in the bathroom for tomorrow, I am screwed unless this is taken care of by 7am tomorrow morning. What kind of hotel has auto locking bathroom doors? And no keys to open them with??? All my dreams of going to bed at 10:30...crushed...GRRRRR...I feel like there is some evil cosmic plan in which I am not allowed to get normal amounts of sleep or rest...
The comedy in this situation is leaving me very quickly...

why do these things always happen to me? Part two
So now it has been 40 minutes and two guys have already been up and neither can get the door open. GRRRR...this is SO not funny...
I am literally forcing my eyes to stay open. They have to call another guy in. *praying* that this can be resolved ASAP. Must sleep....
On top of it, tomorrow I am flying to burbank (where I flew out of today) getting my car, and driving to downtown LA for the DCFC show (which will also be over late). There is too much going on...

Another amazing adventure - here is the back story - I am exhausted and ready for bed. I am in Mt View for work and staying at a hotel. I was ready for bed at 10:30 hoping to get a nice long amount of sleep before my alarm goes off at 6:50am.
I went to the bathroom, and afterward I shut the door. I realized I wanted something else out of the bathroom and it is LOCKED. I hadn't shut the door at all before, so I guess it auto locks behind you. This was at 10:30. I called downstairs, they came up at 10:45 with some keys. They don't work.
So now I am waiting to see what will happen. I wish I could be angry, but I am mostly just delirous and laughing to myself like a mad woman. I am praying that they can figure it out by midnight....the bright side - at least I figured it out tonight and A) not in the middle of the night when I needed to actually use the bathroom or B) in the morning when I have a small amount of time to get ready....

Fa la la la la la la Tonight! Fa la la la la la la Tonight!
Tonight my 5th grade self reemerged.
I got to see New Kids on the Block! MAJOR probs to Amber for securing these premium and much desired tickets.
This was NKOTB's first show in FIFTEEN years. That is over half my life BTW.
The night opened with a powerful short documentary - highlighting the kids career and where they hope to take the band in the future. A rushing flood of elementary school memories came back to me as footage from the cartoon, concerts, etc montage flashed before us. The build up was incredible - these fans are STILL crazy.
They opened up the show with a past songs medley - Step by Step, Please don't go girl, Hanging Tough, You got it (The Right Stuff), Stop it Girl, and probably some others that I forgot about.
Then after the medley was completed, Donny introduced the group to the crowd. (As if we needed it). From there they performed their new single "Summertime". It was super fun, and the boys were just as great as they were back in the day. It was so crazy - and I was glad I had earplugs, as the screaming was just as loud as back in the day. I remember reports that the screaming was so loud you couldn't even hear the kids singing.
After Summertime, they closed with the crowd favorite "Tonight" from the Step by Step album. The crowd sang seamlessly in unison - as if the past 18 years didn't separate us from each other - yet drew us all together. (That song was released in 1990).
I saw at least 4 NKOTB black and red hanging tough tour bomber jackets. AMAZING.
